A native of Merrillville, Indiana, Stroia earned a B.A. in Sport Sciences with an emphasis in Athletic Training from Purdue University, a M.S. degree in Athletic Training from West Virginia University and a B.S. degree in Physical Therapy from Chicago Medical School.

She joined the WTA Tour full-time as a staff Primary Health Care Provider (physical therapist/athletic trainer) in 1990 then became Director of the Sport Sciences & Medicine Department in 1992 and is currently the Vice President of the Sport Sciences & Medicine and Professional Development.

In her position as Vice President, Stroia is ultimately responsible for the supervision and direction of the WTA Sport Sciences & Medicine and Professional Development departments and staff (including departmental development, budgets, marketing efforts, setting policy and procedures).

Stroia has served on several committees and on the WTA Tour Age Eligibility Commission in 1994, which led to the development and implementation of the Professional Development department. In addition, Stroia has published numerous health articles and gives professional presentations covering sports medicine topics from fitness, conditioning and rehabilitation (to both the professional and lay community), and what’s hot in the market to the management of sports injuries.
