The theme of this year’s Conference is `The Long-term Development of a High Performance Player’. The conference will deal with issues related to professional tennis coaching, applied sport science for top coaching, high-level player development and coaches’ education.

17th ITF Worldwide Coaches Conference by BNP Paribas is the showpiece of the ITF’s Coach Education Programme. This five-day event offers a perfect combination of coaches’ education, the latest sport science information and practical on-court presentations.

The event, which is held every two years, has been held in America, Asia, Africa, South America and Europe.

The ITF would like to take this opportunity to confirm that the situation in Port Ghalib, Egypt, remains very stable. In the past 6 months the ITF have successfully held a number of events in Egypt including the Fed Cup Zonal event for Euro Africa (May), the African Davis Cup group 3 (July), the African Qualifying of the Junior Davis Cup and Fed Cup (June) as well as 4 Junior ITF 18 and under World Ranking events. All of these events took place in Cairo took in July and September with no problems identified and one more has taken place in early October, also in Cairo with no reported problems. Throughout the continued demonstrations in Egypt in 2011, Port Ghalib was unaffected and has continued throughout that time to operate as a very safe tourist destination.

We can confirm therefore that the ITF Worldwide Coaches Conference will proceed as planned in Port Ghalib, Egypt from November 20-24th and we are delighted that over 430 coaches have already enrolled.
